Keep playing, together
Most adult learners quit alone, somewhere in the hard, boring middle. Here you don’t go through it alone.
A practice pod
We match you with 5 to 8 players at your level, in your time zone. Each of you works toward your own goal, trading short clips and keeping each other going.
Progress you can hear
Your clips build a timeline, so you can hear yourself from three months ago. Milestones celebrate firsts, like your first full song or first jam. No streaks to break.
Jams in real life
Opt in to show your city, never your address, and see how many players are near you. Then get off the screen and pick together.
How a season works
Pods play in seasons of 8 weeks: long enough to learn something real, short enough to commit to.
- Week 1
Pick your goal
Choose something to work toward this season, like learning Foggy Mountain Breakdown or getting one song up to speed, and share it with your pod so they can cheer you on.
- Weeks 2 to 7
Practice and share
Post a short clip when you can and cheer on everyone else's. If you go quiet, someone checks in. Nobody's counting days.
- Week 8
Celebrate, then choose
Share how far you got and add the season to your card. Then your pod votes: stay together for another season, or reshuffle into new pods.
Why seasons?
A finish line
“I’ll practice more someday” never ends. Eight weeks is a promise you can keep, and the end of a season gives you something to celebrate.
A fresh start
If a pod isn't clicking, the next season is a natural time to switch. No awkward goodbyes.
Nobody left alone
If a pod gets too quiet partway through, we merge it with another, so there are always people to play with.
Took a break? Welcome back.
Life gets busy. When you come back, you’ll see what your pod has been up to, and a “Coming back after a break” tag lets people know to cheer you on.
Everyone’s an All-Star
Banjo All-Star Jam grew out of Banjo All-Stars, a trading-card series celebrating great banjo players. Here, everyone gets a card.
Yours has a portrait drawn in our house style from your photo, and shows how you play, what you’re open to, and the milestones you’ve reached. Add links to your lessons, channel or band, and share it with anyone. Some of the players from the original series are here too, as members like everyone else.
